At Clarity Eyecare, we are committed to providing the latest advancements in eye care to help our patients achieve optimal eye health and comfort. One of the most effective treatments we offer for dry eye disease (DED) and meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) is radiofrequency (RF) therapy.

We use the Forma RF system from InMode for RF therapy. This innovative technology provides a safe, non-invasive, and highly effective solution for patients suffering from these common eye conditions.

Understanding Dry Eye Disease & Meibomian Gland Dysfunction

Dry eye disease is a chronic condition that occurs when the eyes do not produce enough tears or when the tears evaporate too quickly. Meibomian gland dysfunction is a leading cause of DED. It’s a condition where the meibomian glands in the eyelids become blocked or do not produce enough oil to maintain a healthy tear film.

When left untreated, MGD can lead to inflammation, irritation, blurred vision, and a significant decline in overall eye health.

How Radiofrequency Therapy Works

Radiofrequency therapy uses controlled heat and energy to gently warm the eyelids, effectively liquefying and clearing blockages in the meibomian glands. Forma RF from InMode delivers this treatment through a safe and precise application of radiofrequency waves, stimulating collagen production and improving circulation around the eyes.

The Benefits of Forma RF for Dry Eye & MGD

  • Unclogs Meibomian Glands – The controlled heat softens oils within the meibomian glands, allowing for better oil flow and improved tear stability.
  • Reduces Inflammation – RF therapy helps decrease inflammation around the eyes, reducing redness, irritation, and discomfort associated with dry eye.
  • Enhances Collagen Production – The treatment can stimulate collagen production in the skin around the eyes, improving eyelid elasticity and overall skin health.
  • Non-Invasive & Painless – Forma RF is a comfortable, non-surgical treatment that requires no downtime, making it a convenient option for people with busy schedules.
  • Long-Lasting Results – Many of our patients experience significant relief from dry eye symptoms after just a few treatments, with results that continue to improve over time.
  • Improves Overall Eye Comfort – By addressing the root cause of MGD, RF therapy can restore balance to the tear film, providing long-term relief from dry eye symptoms.

What to Expect During RF Treatment

During an RF session at Clarity Eyecare, a trained professional will apply the Forma RF device to your eyelids, delivering gentle, controlled heat to the area. The procedure is painless and typically lasts about 30 minutes per session. Most people require a series of treatments for optimal results, with noticeable improvement in symptoms after the first few sessions.

Is Radiofrequency Therapy Right for You?

If you suffer from dry, irritated, or red eyes due to meibomian gland dysfunction, radiofrequency therapy with Forma RF may be the ideal solution. At Clarity Eyecare, we offer comprehensive dry eye evaluations to determine the best treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.

Don’t let dry eyes interfere with your quality of life. Contact Clarity Eyecare today to schedule a consultation and learn how radiofrequency therapy can help you achieve lasting relief from dry eye disease and meibomian gland dysfunction.
