Evaluate Your Eye Health Regularly

Regular eye exams are essential to have comfortable and clear eyesight for work, play, and all your lifestyle needs. Visiting Clarity Eyecare is your first step towards improving your eye health.

Do I Need an Eye Exam?

An evaluation of your ocular health benefits you by detecting signs of conditions that could put your eyesight at risk.

Some diseases, like glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration, can progress without symptoms, making an eye exam your best prevention method.

Eye exams also assess patients struggling with digital eye strain, dry eye disease, and other ocular emergencies. Our trained doctors will present you with the next steps for treatment or a prescription.

When Should I Get an Eye Exam?

You can maintain your eye health and vision by making eye exams a consistent part of your healthcare routine.

But how often should you get them? Your eye exam schedule changes depending on your age. Keep in mind that your frequency may increase if you are at risk or have a family history of ocular disease.

At Clarity Eyecare, we follow the guidance set out by the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO):

  • Adults between 20 and 39 should have an eye exam every 2 to 3 years.
  • Adults between 40 and 64 should have an eye exam every 2 years.
  • Adults over 65 should have an eye exam every year.

Contact us to discuss your unique circumstances and determine when to book your next appointment—we’re here to help!

What Happens to Our Eyes as We Get Older?

As we age, some adults may require more regular eye care. When we reach our early to mid-40s, our eyes undergo many changes that need specific attention.

Routine eye exams can help you monitor these changes, and your optometrist will test your ocular health for various health issues. Some of these issues can cause irreparable damage if they progress undetected.

We will test your visual acuity using our state-of-the-art equipment. We assess your visual field, colour vision, alignment, and how well you currently see. Additionally, our non-invasive technology allows us to capture digital images of your retina and look at your overall visual system for a detailed evaluation of your eye health.

Our patients’ well-being comes first. Clarity Eyecare aims to provide superior and comprehensive services to every patient, every time.
