How Contact Lenses Could Help You!

Clarity Eyecare’s commitment is to find the right lens for you and your lifestyle, whether they are contacts or eyeglasses.

While eyeglasses are a popular and accessible corrective lens choice, contact lenses offer a variety of benefits that may surprise you. Modern contact lens technology has advanced to bring clear vision while living with a range of eye conditions.

Getting Your First Pair of Contact Lenses

Before prescribing contact lenses, we first have to perform a comprehensive eye exam and fitting process.

While contacts can be an excellent option for some people, we still need to ensure they’re suitable for your eyes and your lifestyle. When you come in for your contact lens exam and fitting appointment, we’ll also walk you through everything you need to know about caring for and wearing your contact lenses.

We may also have you come in for follow-up appointments to ensure your eyes adjust to your contact lenses properly. If your eyes begin to feel irritated or inflamed while wearing your contacts, please remove them immediately and call our team.

The Eye Exam

Eye exams are the cornerstone of all eye care; we examine your eyes before prescribing lenses, recommending dry eye treatments, or determining your candidacy for laser eye surgery.

During the eye exam, our team takes a deep look at your eyes for conditions that may affect the types of contact lenses or wear or if you can wear them at all.

Some of these conditions can include:

Fittings help us determine which type of contact lens may be best for your needs. We take several measurements of your eye and have you try on a few different pairs of contacts to see how they serve your vision.

Some of these measurements include your:

After we fit your lenses, we’ll walk you through caring and storing your contact lenses. Cleaning can help prevent eye infections that may occur while regularly inserting and removing your contact lenses.

At the end of your exam, we’ll provide you with a trial pair of lenses to wear for a short period until your follow-up appointment. If you’re satisfied, we’ll order a supply of your contact lenses!

We may recommend additional eye exams to ensure your contacts continuously meet your needs.

Scleral Lenses for Dry Eye & Corneal Conditions

Unlike standard soft lenses, which sit directly on the cornea (the central dome of the eye), scleral lenses vault over it and rest on the sclera (the whites of the eye). This larger, vaulted design creates a fluid reservoir between the cornea and the lens, keeping your eyes hydrated and promoting all-day comfort.

If you’ve struggled with contact lenses because of dry eyes or corneal conditions like keratoconus, scleral lenses can offer a solution for clearer vision and refreshed eyes.
